There's something about the words 'Best Ever Christmas Gift Guide!' plastered all over the front of a glossy magazine that gets my heart racing with anticipation. I love looking at all the curated gifts, happily devouring all the suggestions. I circle some, immediately google others, commit various to my memory.
But this year I did actually think do I really need a silk eye mask, does my father in law want another jumper, will my sister wear the dressing gown I choose? I love presents - and always have - but even I am starting to tire of the endless, unnecessary stuff.
So, and here's the plug for BeGolden tee hee, why not get a photo album? Why not buy your loved ones a photo album and fill it with photos of all the lovely times they've had? Make up a photo album of their younger days ( older people loved to be reminded of their youth, kids love to see pictures of themselves as a baby) or give them a photo album of your years together.
Not only will it show that you are incredibly thoughtful - which is the ideal outcome everyone hankers after - but it will also be the one present that will a) not be in the charity shop in January b) will still be around years down the line
